Casa de Campo’s Tennis Director & ITF World Ranking
HOW DID YOUR CASA DE CAMPO STORY BEGIN?
I was raised here in La Romana, so I’ve watched Casa de Campo grow since the beginning. Since I was 8 years old, I’ve been gaining nautical experience and knowledge through boating and fishing, so I was excited to accept the position of General Director from Mr Giacosa.
YOU’VE BEEN FISHING WITH MANY GUESTS OVER YOUR TIME HERE. ANY FISHING TALES TO SHARE?
I was once invited to go on an American fishing boat. I had never in all my years of fishing had 5 Blue Marlins come to bite at the same time! I was so surprised that I froze and the marlins took all the teasers without us hooking one. This is a very rare occurrence in any fishing destination.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING THING ABOUT YOUR POSITION?
To me, it’s seeing all our hard work come to fruition. I love to see our fishing seasons completely packed with sport-fishing boats, reporting excellent Blue Marlin releases. Also, to see the popularity of our marina as a destination for yachts from all over the world.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF WHEN IT COMES TO THE MARINA AND ITS OFFERINGS?
That each guest gets exceptional VIP treatment through our personalized services. The best reward is to see how grateful and happy each guest is after being in Marina Casa de Campo. This is what prompts many repeat visits, which also makes me proud.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT OUR MARINA?
Simple — that we are the best Marina in the Caribbean!
WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING RECENT DEVELOPMENT AT THE MARINA?
The SBG lighthouse with its new pool, a perfect setting for enjoying the sunsets.
