In these challenging times, Casa de Campo is committed to caring for its guests with all necessary health and safety measures while ensuring a superior vacation experience. The Dominican Republic is open to receiving travelers from all over the world, but there are many requirements that have changed to preserve the safety and well-being of all. To help you prepare for your next trip, we have compiled some tips on necessary documents, requirements, and important local information.

Here’s a recap of what you’ll read:

• Make use of the mobile applications available for check-in, hotel, and airline reservations.

• We encourage you to travel with a portable prevention kit.

• Check your personal travel insurance coverage for COVID-19.

• It is not necessary to show negative COVID-19 test results at the airport, however, random testing may be done at no additional cost.

• Complimentary viral antigen tests will be offered to all international visitors staying in a hotel to comply with the travel protocols of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

• The hospitality industry is not affected by curfews throughout the country. However, if your flight arrives or departs between these hours, we recommend that you book the Casa de Campo shuttle service, as they are authorized to drive at all times.

• Casa de Campo offers 100% free cancellation on all individual reservations. We can help you change or cancel your dates without penalty.

Necessary Documents & Travel Requirements

Before traveling to Casa de Campo, make sure you have all your travel documents in order. In applying for or renewing passports, visas, or other related documents, you may experience some delays. Before arriving at the airport, check in for your flight through the airline’s app or website, or print your itinerary and boarding passes in advance.

When packing, don’t forget to add a portable prevention kit that includes disposable and reusable masks, hand sanitizer, soap, sanitizing wipes, tissues, gloves, and a thermometer. So you can use them during your journey.

If you are purchasing private travel insurance, be sure to check the company’s policies on cancellations related to COVID-19 and other related health situations.

If your destination country requires a negative COVID-19 test to enter, as of January 26, 2021, complimentary viral antigen tests are being offered to all international visitors staying at a hotel in the Dominican Republic. This test complies with the travel protocols of the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and must be administered within 72 hours prior to your departure.

At the airport

All Dominican airports are enforcing mask usage and social distancing measures to protect all passengers and employees, as well as temperature checks at many points. Only remove your mask if a safety or immigration official requires it.

Even with updated signage and supervising personnel, know that queues, screenings and procedures may take a longer time. It is recommended to arrive with enough time to deal with any eventuality. Be patient and kind with everyone, as we all are getting used to travel in the new normal.

About COVID-19 Testing

By indications of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, most travelers do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival to enter the Dominican Republic. However, travelers who present a vaccination card or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival will be exempted from random breath tests at the airports and other ports of entry. All passengers must go through temperature checks upon arrival.

All passengers arriving from Australia, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Ireland, Kuwait, Monaco, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, South Africa, Sweden, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, and United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales), as well as the Kingdom of Spain, must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival or a vaccination card no less than 3 weeks after the last dose was administered. For passengers arriving from the Kingdom of Spain, a negative antigen COVID-19 test is also accepted.

For specific entry requirement details, please visit the official Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic website.

Curfew

As of August 9, 2021, a curfew has been lifted for the National District and La Altagracia province (Punta Cana/Bávaro). While hotel guests in La Romana province will not be required to follow these guidelines within their resort property, they will be limited to stay within the property during the associated hours.

International passengers in transit to or from airports are allowed to circulate during curfew hours. We strongly recommend that you book Casa de Campo shuttle service, as they are authorized to drive at all times. If you drive to or from the airport on your own during curfew, be aware that authorities may ask you to show proof of your travel itinerary, as well as your passport and airline ticket.

Curfew is established throughout the country, except in the National District and La Altagracia province, every day from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with free circulation until 1:00 a.m.
