Leslie Grace Helps Honor Latin-American Tastemakers at Altos de Chavón

The first-ever Latin American Fashion Awards, which took place November 2 – 5, 2023, celebrated Latin designers, models, and creatives who are transforming the global fashion industry. For Dominican-American actress and singer Leslie Grace, the event was not just a celebration of artistic excellence, but also a homecoming. Grace co-hosted the ceremony at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater at Casa de Campo in La Romana, on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. This city holds a special place in her heart, as it’s where her parents met. She expressed pride in representing her people, especially in her home country, and shared the warmth and affection she feels from her people.

The evening began with Grace performing her hit song “Bachatica” with a lively, Dominican-inspired band. She also made a stunning appearance on the red carpet in a black sequin gown designed by Dominican designer Giannina Azar. The dress, featuring exaggerated shoulders, an open back, and a dramatic plunging neckline, was a testament to her pride in wearing a creation by one of her favorite Dominican designers. Grace further honored her roots through her accessories, choosing pieces from her mother’s jewelry collection for the special occasion. She highlighted a silver David Yurman ring, a favorite piece shared between her and her mother. Grace views fashion as a means of self-expression that has helped her discover more about herself and voiced her pride in the impact of her communities being celebrated in the fashion world in an unprecedented way.
